LAHORE: Police attacked PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid’s car and broke the windscreen when she was heading towards Batti Chowk in Lahore.
At Lahore’s Batti Chowk, police resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse PTI workers when they removed barriers placed to block the routes.
Police encircled the car of former health minister Yasmin Rashid in an attempt to stop her from moving forward. According to the video circulating on social media, a PTI supporter came forward and verbally abused the police officials.
Meanwhile, Yasmin tried stopping the police from taking away her car keys. Dr Yasmin Rashid had an argument with policemen deployed to block the party workers from leaving the city.
Police personnel told the PTI leader that she can not go but she did not pay any heed and continued to drive ahead. Police resorted to baton charge and broke the vehicle’s windscreen, but she managed to make her way.
PTI’s Lahore chapter had asked its workers to gather at the Batti Chowk today from where they were to depart for Islamabad. Several party workers were taken into custody during clashes.
