ISLAMABAD: The State Department has strongly protested the threatening letter to the United States, with a US spokesman saying the allegations against his country are baseless.
According to details, the Foreign Office summoned the US ambassador and stopped the protest letter. A Foreign Office spokesman said the letter was issued in light of a decision by the National Security Committee.
On the other hand, the US State Department has denied involvement in the threatening letter regarding the no-confidence motion. British media said that the US State Department has denied the allegations.
According to British media, US State Department spokesman Edward Price said the allegations in the threatening letter were baseless and false. The situation in Pakistan is being closely monitored, he maintained.

US State Department spokesman Price added that the United States was monitoring the situation in Pakistan. Respect the rule of law and legal process in Pakistan, he said.
It is to be noted that the threatening letter was allegedly received by the prime minister from Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States in January 2019, which mentioned a no-confidence motion.
