KARACHI: The matter of appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor in Karachi University went to court after alleged delay and forgery by the search committee, after which the court ordered the search committee to appoint a permanent vice-chancellor. In this report, an attempt was made to conceal the facts by not providing complete information about the research articles. However, the court decision clearly states that the academic record of each applicant applying for the position of VC in the university should be verified. Despite this, the Search Committee and the Higher Education Commission did not present the facts, but the same process is likely to be repeated once a detailed decision is reached, in which all the papers that Khalid Iraqi has published in the journals published by VC KU as the caretaker will be subtracted.
It should be noted that the papers of Khalid Iraqi which he has published after the advertisement for the Vice-Chancellor of the university will not be counted, which is not on the list of Magazines certified by the Higher Education Commission, while Khalid Mahmoud Iraqi holds the record of writing five research papers together with the highest administrative responsibilities. He has also done a unique series of publications in history.
He was also the editor-in-chief of several of the journals in which Khalid Mahmoud al-Iraqi has published his research articles, in clear violation of the rules of the Higher Education Commission. According to the commission, he cannot publish his own articles in magazines edited by the editor. According to the rules, 1/5% of the total papers published in any of the journals published by the institute will be from the university. In 2017, Ahmar Zafar, Khalid Iraqi and Sadaf Mustafa co-authored a research paper in the International Journal of Academic Research in Business and Social Sciences, which is not HEC-certified.
In 2018, he wrote 9 research papers out of which 6 are included in HEC-recognized journals and 3 are not. In 2019, Khalid Mahmoud Iraqi co-authored 21 research papers with other authors and surprisingly the fastest researcher has managed to publish almost two research articles each month. Out of which 9 research papers have been published in such journals of which Patron-in-Chief is himself. While 9 research articles have not been published and 2 research articles have been declared as irrelevant while 3 articles have been published on 31st December 2019 in different journals. ۔
