KARACHI: With the change of seasons, fruits and vegetables also change. If mango is the gift of summer, then orange is considered to be the favorite fruit of the winter season. Orange halwa available in Karachi’s Korangi is a slightly different and delicious gift for the citizens of the port city from the dishes available in other areas.
The orange halwa available at the Al Mehran Sweets, located in Korangi No. 1 is delicious and mouthwatering dishes. The administration of Al-Mehran Sweets said that we wanted to bring a gift of food for the citizens of Karachi which no one else has.
According to New Al Mehran, Oranges Halwa is their own creation, the idea of which was not derived from anywhere else. The management says that we make orange marmalade and by adding other ingredients in it we create a new dish which is being liked by the citizens of Karachi.
Regarding marmalade, the Mehran Sweets said though the orange marmalade is also available at other places but we prepare marmalade for making orange halwa. Then we prepare the khoya ourselves and add it to the orange marmalade so that the dessert becomes delicious.
Regarding synthetic ingredients, the Mehran Sweets administration said that no artificial colors are used in our orange halwa. The color that appears in the desert is naturally present in the ingredients used to make the dish. Our biggest branch is located in Nazimabad, they added.
Al-Mehran Sweets further said that their second branch is located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. It has been more than a month since the third branch was set up in Korangi. Orange halwa is sold at Rs. 800 per kg, but there can be discounts of up to Rs. 50 per kg for weddings.
Just as carrots are added to carrot halwa by squeezing them, so is orange halwa tastes delicious to eat. As well as the sweetness of the dessert, its aroma is also unique.
