KATHMANDU: Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, who summited Mount Everest and K2 this year, has achieved another feature in his by becoming the youngest Pakistani to conquer Manaslu.
Shehroze, aged 19, a resident of Lahore, climbed the 8163-metre-high Manaslu peak earlier on Saturday. Manaslu, also known as Kutang, is the world’s eighth highest peak located in Nepal.
This is his fourth major achievement so far. He is now the world’s youngest person to summit three peaks over 8,000 metres in just five months.
Sheroze’s father, Kashif Suliman, while speaking with media, confirmed that his son has successfully scaled Manaslu. He said that Kashif was safe and will return to the base camp within two days.
Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan said Shehroze made an unprecedented example of courage at a young age. Khan also felicitated him for making Pakistan proud.

Earlier, the Pakistani climber became the youngest mountaineer to summit Mount Everest and K2, the world’s top highest peaks. The young achiever started climbing at the age of 11, summiting the 3,885 metres Makra Peak. He also climbed Musa ka Massalah at age 12, other than Chembra Peak and Manglik Sar Shimshal.
He also climbed Broad peak which gave him the title of ‘The Broad Boy’ and reached the peak of Khusar Gang-Alpine Style (6,050m) at 18 years of age.
