New Zealand cricket has been facing severe criticism in the international media after the cancellation of the tour of Pakistan as prominent cricketers are calling it a shameful decision.
The media columnists also targeted the double standards of cricket boards and claimed that England and New Zealand did wrong. A journalist named George Dubel wrote that the English Cricket Board can quickly lose its friends through hypocrisy and double standards.
“This decision exposes the hypocrisy of cricketing nations and their double standards,” said George Dubel. British journalist Peter Auburn said that English cricket had a chance to repay Pakistan’s debt, maintain its dignity and stand with a cricketing nation that has gone through such challenges.

Leading New Zealand columnist Mark Reisen also slammed the New Zealand cricket board, saying Pakistan’s anger is justified. Former England cricket captain Michael Atherton also lashed out at the ECB for postponing a tour of Pakistan. Atherton has said that postponing England’s visit to Pakistan is a wrong decision.
He said the ECB should have remembered that Pakistan was one of the teams that visited England last summer when the coronavirus epidemic was on the rise in the UK and saved the board from financial ruin.
