SRINAGAR: About 93 Kashmiris have been killed since the curfew has been imposed in the Indian occupied Kashmir.
A report by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the completion of 250 days of siege and lockdown in IoK revealed that the Indian troops have martyred 93 Kashmiris including three women during the period.
According to the report, at least 963 people were critically injured due to the use of brute forces, firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells on them by the Indian military and the police in the occupied territory. Moreover. the Indian troops have also launched a military and search operation in the Nandimarg area of Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district.
Kashmiris had urged the international community to take notice of the dilemma of the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir, who have been living under absolute lockdown since 5th August when New Delhi revoked the region’s sovereign status.
Restrictions under section 144 and total ban on internet and prepaid mobile services remain enforced. Public transport is off the roads. Shops and business centers barring a few hours in the morning and evening continue to remain shut.
On 10th January, Indian Supreme Court ruled the communications blackout in occupied Kashmir as unconstitutional and ordered the government to review all restrictions, including suspension of internet service, in occupied Kashmir within a week.
