ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has asserted that 90 percent tax concession has been given to the construction sector under the incentive package.
Firdous Ashiq Awan took to Twitter and said that the concession package for the construction sector would also boost other industries.
She further said that this initiative by Prime Minister Imran Khan was a ray of hope and message of development for industrialists and working-class individuals who will gain employment through the initiative.
She further announced that those, who invest in the Naya Pakistan Housing programme, would have to pay only 10 percent taxes.
She also said that all construction-related industries have gotten their withholding taxes suspended – the suspension though does not apply to steel and cement industries.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced a stimulus package for the construction industry in order to increase employment opportunities in the country amid coronavirus outbreak.
The Prime Minister also said that agriculture and construction are two major employing sectors in the country and a lot of people are associated with these.
