In the Barkhan district of Balochistan, seven passengers of a bus heading to Punjab were murdered after ID verification. Armed men checked the identity cards of the seven passengers, took them off the bus, and killed them.
According to national media, the incident occurred on the highway connecting Rakhni to Dera Ghazi Khan. Around 10 to 12 terrorists stopped a passenger bus traveling from Quetta to Faisalabad, identified 7 passengers, took them off the bus, and shot them before fleeing.
The deceased belonged to different cities in Punjab. Assistant Commissioner Barkhan, Khadim Hussain, stated that 7 passengers were taken off the bus and shot. The Assistant Commissioner stated that the bus was traveling from Quetta to Faisalabad. Levies and FC have cordoned off the area, and the bodies are being transferred to Rakhni Hospital.
A passenger of the bus, Zeeshan, told the media that 10 to 12 armed men stopped the bus and shot dead 7 passengers. Zeeshan said that his brother, Adnan, was also taken off the bus and killed. He was removed from the bus after his identity card was checked.
Additionally, female passengers from the affected family stated that they were traveling from Quetta to Faisalabad when their brother’s identity card was checked, and he was forcefully taken off the bus.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the brutal killing of the 7 passengers in Barkhan, stating that terrorists are targeting innocent and unarmed people.
He said that the cowardly attack by enemies of peace is intolerable and will be met with a harsh response. The terrorists responsible for the martyrdom of Pakistanis will be brought to justice.
The spokesperson for the Balochistan government stated that after the Barkhan incident, FC and Levies forces arrived at the scene, and security forces are continuing to pursue the terrorists.
