ISLAMABAD: 7 Air Officers of Pak Air Force (PAF) have been promoted to the position of Air Vice-Marshal.
According to PAF spokesperson, Air Vice Marshal Farooq Zamir Afridi, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, Air Vice Marshal Taimur Iqbal, Air Vice Marshal Hakim Reza, Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mahmood Ghazi, Air Vice Marshal Mohsen Mahmood and Air Vice Marshal Tahir Mahmoud are among the promoted air officers.
Air Vice Marshal Farooq Zamir Afridi received commission in the KJDP branch of the Pak Air Force in December 1992. During his career, said the PAF statement, he commanded fighter and operational convergence units, flying wing and operational air base. He was also appointed as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operational Requirements and Development) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.
He has master’s degree in National Security and War Studies from National Defense University Islamabad and has been awarded the ‘Sitara-e- Imtiaz’ (Military) for excellent service in the Pak Air Force.
Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed joined PAF in 1992. During his career, he commanded a fighter squadron at an operational air base. He was also appointed as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operational Requirements and Development) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.
He received his master’s degrees in Military Arts from China and in National Security and War Studies from National Defense University Islamabad. He has also served on deputation in Saudi Arabia. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award (Military) in PAF.
Air Vice Marshal Taimur Iqbal was commissioned in PAF KJDP Branch in December 1992. During his career, he commanded a fighter squadron, a flying wing, and an operational air base. He received his master’s degree in National Security and War Studies from National Defense University Islamabad. He has also completed his duties on deputation in Qatar. He was awarded the ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’ (Military) for excellent service in the Pak Air Force.
Air Vice Marshal Hakim Reza received commission in the Pak Air Force KJDP branch in December 1992. During his career, he commanded a fighter squadron at an operational airbase. He also served as the Deputy Chief Project Director of JF-17 and the Secretary of the Air Force Chief at Islamabad Air Headquarters. He received his master’s degree in National Security and War Studies from National Defense University Islamabad. He also served as a directing staff in the National Defense University of Islamabad. He was awarded the ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) star service in PAF.
Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mahmood Ghazi received commission in PAF KDP branch in December 1992. During his career, he commanded the fighter squadron, flying wing, and operational Air Base. He also served as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operational Requirements and Development) and Director (General Duties Group) at Up Air Headquarters in Islamabad. He obtained Master’s degrees in Strategic Security Studies from America, Defense Studies from Great Britain, and Strategic Studies from PAF Air War College Institute.
Air Vice Marshal Mohsen Mahmood received commission in the engineering branch of Pak Air Force in June 1992. During his career, he commanded the Engineering Wing. He has also served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Radar Engineering) at Air Headquarters in Islamabad. Faisal is a graduate of Air War College Institute and has also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He also served as General Director of Avionics and Weapons (Engineering) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.
He was awarded the ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’ (Military) for outstanding service in the PAF.
Air Vice Marshal Tahir Mahmood was commissioned in the Air Defense Branch of the PAF in April 1992. During his career, he commanded four air defense units. He has also served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Training and Evaluation) in Islamabad Air Headquarters. He received a master’s degree in National Security and War Studies from National Defense University Islamabad. He was also appointed as a sector commander in the North sector of Pak Air Force. He was awarded the ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) for his service in PAF, the statement concluded.
