KARACHI: Around five people including the Chief Security Officer have been arrested in the fire case of Rashid Minhas Road’s 6-storey shopping mall.
Karachi Police said that the arrested persons will be investigated for the fire incident. According to the details, the investigation is ongoing regarding the loss of lives of 11 people due to the fire in the 6-storey building of the shopping mall on Rashid Minhas Road. The police also detained the chief security officer and the owner of the software house.
On November 24, a person died and six were injured due to a fire on Rashid Minhas Road. More than 40 lives have been saved, in which aid organizations and ordinary citizens also have a hand.
The caretaker chief minister of Sindh and other political figures including the governor had expressed regret over the incident. The Sindh government issued an inquiry order and directed those responsible for the incident to be brought to justice.
The elevator was closed during the fire. There was a fire on the stairs when a man named Mohammad Amir risked his life by breaking the lift and saving the lives of many people including his son. In the tragic incident, many people died due to smoke inhalation.
