The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully thwarted a cocaine smuggling attempt at Multan International Airport, apprehending a foreign national in the process.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the suspect, an Angolan man who arrived from Muscat, was found to be carrying 48 capsules filled with cocaine in his stomach, with each capsule weighing 13 grams. In total, 624 grams of cocaine were recovered from the individual.
The spokesperson highlighted a troubling trend this year, noting that many foreign nationals arrested for drug trafficking in Pakistan have come from African countries.
Drug traffickers are increasingly resorting to innovative and hazardous methods to smuggle drugs, which poses a significant threat to society.
The rise in drug trafficking cases involving foreign nationals is a growing concern, the spokesperson emphasized.
