A heartbreaking incident occurred in Mehran Town, Karachi, where a four-year-old girl, identified as Rukhsana, lost her life after being run over by a mini truck.
The city’s growing traffic congestion continues to endanger lives, with such tragedies becoming increasingly common.
The accident took place late Monday night near Jalal Chowk in the Korangi Industrial Area. Rukhsana was playing outside her home before iftar when the speeding vehicle struck her. At the time of the incident, three passengers were inside the mini truck. While two managed to escape, local residents apprehended the third and handed him over to the police.
Rukhsana, the eldest of three siblings, was rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident. However, rescue workers confirmed that she had already succumbed to her injuries. Her body was later handed over to her grieving family.
In a separate accident, two industrialists lost their lives when a speeding trailer collided with their car on the ICI Bridge in Karachi. Police identified the victims as 62-year-old Ashraf and his son Naveed. The two were on their way to the SITE Industrial Area when the trailer crashed into their vehicle, resulting in their deaths.
