KARACHI: At least four people are reported dead when a factory in Gabol Town that was earlier damaged in a fire, collapsed on Wednesday night, resulting in casualties.
According to reports gathered by MM News from rescue and police sources, the firefighters and rescue teams were working to extinguish the fire and cool the factory when the building suddenly collapsed. The collapse resulted in several firefighters and civilians being buried under the rubble.
Rescue teams were quick to respond and worked tirelessly to retrieve four dead bodies from the debris while 13 injured persons were pulled out from the rubble.
The deceased were identified as Mohsin, Afzal, Sohail, and Khalid Shahzad, all of whom were firefighters who were busy with the cooling process.
The injured included 11 firefighters and two civilians. They were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to latest reports, the rescue operation was still ongoing, and rescue sources have confirmed that they are working to find any survivors.
The cause of the fire and subsequent collapse is still under investigation, and authorities are all set take strict action against those responsible for the tragedy.
