Tremors of an earthquake were felt on Monday in the Pak-Afghan border region, including areas near Nushki and Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, according to national media reports.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.9 and occurred at a depth of 21 kilometers below the surface, as reported by the Seismological Center of Pakistan. The epicenter was located approximately 125 kilometers southwest of Quetta.
No casualties or damage have been reported as a result of the quake. However, the tremors caused fear and panic among residents in the affected areas. People rushed out of their homes in fear, reciting the Kalma Tayyaba.
Earlier, on May 10, tremors were felt in several cities across Pakistan, including the federal capital Islamabad and Peshawar, spreading fear and anxiety among residents. According to national media, the tremors were also experienced in Mardan, Swat, Nowshera, Swabi, North Waziristan, and Attock.
Due to the earthquake, people in different cities rushed out of their homes in panic, reciting prayers. Fortunately, no loss of life or property was reported in these incidents either.
