Two earthquakes, an hour apart, jolted Swat and Buner in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 12:45 PM, an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Swat at a depth of 185 kilometers. According to the Seismological Center in Islamabad, the epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
Subsequently, at approximately 1:45 PM, another earthquake occurred in Buner, situated approximately 100 kilometers from Swat.
Preliminary reports indicate that neither earthquake resulted in any damage or casualties.
Last week, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 impacted various parts of the country, including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and several other cities across the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake originated at 11:47 AM, with a depth of 94 kilometers. The PMD further reported that the epicenter was located in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.
