The 39th death anniversary of renowned poet and the writer of the national anthem Hafeez Jalandhari is being observed today across the country with tributes for his writing.
Abu Al-Asar Hafeez Jalandhari was born in Jalandhar, Punjab on 14th January 1990. He moved to Lahore after the independence of Pakistan. Shahnam-e-Pakistan and the National Anthem of Pakistan has been considered among his biggest achievements.
Jalandhari wrote several national songs. He also served as the editor for various magazines namely, Naunehal, Hazar Dastaan, Teehzeeb-e-Niswan, and Makhzin.
He has been awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance by the Government of Pakistan for his patriotic and literary services for the country. Hafeez Jalandhari passed away on 21st December 1982 in Lahore, Pakistan.
