ANKARA: An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck Western Turkey region on Wednesday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.
The quake was at a depth of 2 km (1.24 miles), EMSC said. Quake was centered in Duzce province, the country’s disaster management agency says, with tremors felt in Istanbul, Ankara and other regions.

“Our teams are supplying blankets, food and water. Additional blood supplies were sent to hospitals that may be needed in the region,” Turkish Red Crescent president Kerem Kinik said.
