NEW YORK: The United Nations has claimed that 25 human rights organizations in Pakistan are vulnerable to threats and reprisals.
According to the details, in the report presented by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the United Nations said that 220 people and more than 25 organizations working on human rights in Pakistan are threatened and targeted for revenge.
In the report on human rights organizations, the United Nations said that the workers of organizations working on human rights in Pakistan are facing government action, and state and non-state actors threaten them.

The report covers events from May 2022 to April 30, 2023, and the United Nations claims that the government has increased surveillance of civil society activists and human rights organizations, while some individuals have been punished.
So far, the position of the supervisory government in the federation has not come out regarding the report, but the spokesman of the Balochistan government, John Achakzai, said, “Pakistan gives full freedom to human rights organizations and activists.”
Spokesman Balochistan government said in a statement that every government runs the state system on its own protocols and procedures and international organizations also legally have to follow this procedure.
