RAWALPINDI: Pakistan were all out for 579 runs in response to England’s mammoth 657 runs on the 4th day of first test in Rawalpindi on Sunday. Mohammad Ali scored a combined 44 runs in just about 16 overs, also provided support to Agha Salman who struck a half century.
Will Jacks produced dream figures of 6 for 161 as he hunted down the remaining three wickets to book Pakistan early on Day four as they resumed from the overnight score of 499/7.
Will Jacks is only making his debut because Ben Foakes wasn’t feeling well, he has ended up taking six wickets on debut, the first England spinner to take 6 wickets on debut since Peter Such in 1993. The last England bowler to do it was James Kirtley in 2003.
Openers Abdullah Shafique (114) and Imam-ul-Haque (121) and skipper Babar Azam (136) struck hundreds for the home side on a batting-friendly track. Haris Rauf batted but will not be able to bowl in the remainder of the match due to a strain in his right quad.
