A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by robbers during a road robbery near the village of Malik Rahmoo in Pakpattan on Sunday night.
As per Dawn, a resident of Bahawalnagar was visiting family friends in Pakpattan with his wife, son, minor daughter, sister, and 17-year-old niece when the incident occurred. While traveling back to Bahawalnagar, their car was intercepted by four armed robbers on motorbikes near Malik Rahmoo village. The robbers first snatched their mobile phones and car keys, then offloaded the women from the car and took their cash and gold ornaments.
Two of the armed suspects then took the man’s niece to a nearby maize field and gang-raped her, while the other two held the family hostage by the roadside. After the robbery and assault, the suspects threw the car keys on the road and fled.
Saddar Police have registered a case under Section 391 (robbery) and Section 375/A (gang rape) of the PPC against the four unidentified suspects, based on a complaint from the victim’s aunt.
