KARACHI: The 14th anniversary of the deadly Karsaz tragedy is being observed on Monday.
On 18 October 2007, about 180 people were killed as blasts rocked a rally held to accord a warm welcome to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto in Karachi. Former President of Pakistan and Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari paid rich tributes to the victims of the Karsaz tragedy.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while paying tribute to the 180 martyrs on the completion of 14 years of the Karsaz tragedy, said that the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the stability of democracy were great. Earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said that the protests would continue till Imran Khan was sent home.

A meeting was held yesterday at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Karachi to pay homage to the martyrs. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing the gathering said that people ask where are 10 million jobs and 5 million houses.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP government is needed in the country today, our government will be people-friendly, not poor but will eradicate poverty. “PPP will increase salaries on the first day of coming into government,” he said.
