LAHORE: The 142nd birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal being celebrated today fervor across the country.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9th November 1877 in Sialkot. He emerged as a great poet, thinker, and philosopher who float the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
Allama Iqbal was also known as the “Poet of the East.” in the subcontinent.

Iqbal’s poetry has been translated in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, English and several other languages.
Various literary, educational, political, social and cultural organizations have arranged special programmes to pay homage to Iqbal to highlight different aspects of his life and teachings.
While remembering Iqbal on his birth anniversary, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it was high time to revert to the message of Allama Iqbal to find a solution to the ills corroding our society and hindering progress and prosperity.
The nation every year on 9th November gives a tribute to him on his efforts in the creation of Pakistan. This day is marked as Yom-E-Iqbal also known as Iqbal Day in the loving memory of Allama Iqbal.
