PESHAWAR: At least fourteen people were killed and four others were wounded on Thursday in an armed clash between two groups in Khyber Paktunkhwa’s Tank district.
Police said that the incident took place in Mullazai village of Tank and shooting between the Betanni tribe and Inam group and was result of an old enmity. The identities of the dead were not immediately known.
Police added that among the deceased were ten passengers as their bus came under crossfire between the two rival groups at Drabin Mor in Mullazai.
They further said that four people from both sides were gunned down in the fierce clash. The two sides used heavy and automatic weapons in the fight.
Heavy contingent of police and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene and took control of the area. Rescue officials shifted the bodies and the injured to the hospital.

In September, six people were killed and six others were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus in Hangu district.
According to police, the incident occurred in Zargari area of district Hangu. The bus was heading from Shamsuddin Village to Taal town when gunmen stopped the bus and showered it with bullets.
Local authorities said the bodies and injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital. The deceased include two women and four men. Police suspect the incident was the result of a personal enmity.
The police said raids were being conducted to arrest the attackers and a search operation has been launched. The identities of the dead and the injured were not immediately known.
