ISLAMABAD: At least 13 people were injured after a gas leakage explosion at a restaurant in Islamabad.
According to sources, the incident took place due to gas leakage at a local restaurant in the Jinnah Supermarket area. As a result, 13 people sustained injuries.
Police said the incident occurred after the gas cylinders were placed at the backyard of the restaurant. Soon after the incident, rescue teams reached the scene and shifted the injured to Burns ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital in Islamabad for treatment.
The condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger, hospital sources confirmed. Security personnel also reached the placer after the blast, which later turned out to be from gas leakage.
On 23 June 2019, two people, a woman among them, suffered severe injuries when a house collapsed after a gas blast in a Faisalabad neighborhood.
Police said the incident occurred in Gulistan Colony where the house fell down after a blast which was heard far and wide, causing fear among the local residents.
Receiving information about the incident, the rescue team reached the site and pulled out two people, including a woman, from under the wreckage.
