SYDNEY: South Africa on Sunday crushed Pakistan by 17 runs in the 15th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Sydney.
Following a target of 137 runs to prevail, Pakistan’s team could handle to score 119 for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs during the event.
The players could not trounce the tight line with which the South African bowlers knitted their plan to confine the Pakistani team.
The highest scorers for Pakistani players were Aliya Riaz who was triumphant at 39 and Javeria Khan, captain of the Pakistani side in absence of Bismah, collected 31 runs.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and decides to bat, scoring 136 runs for the loss of 6-wickets in their fixed 20 overs. Wolvaadet was listed as the top-scorer with 53 runs off 36 balls studded with eight fours.
However, M Kapp succeeds in getting 31 runs off 32 balls during the match. For Pakistan, Diana Baig took two wickets for 19-runs in her allotted four overs.
