Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has offloaded a woman travelling to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa at Jinnah International Airport on suspicion of possible involvement in human smuggling and has initiated an investigation.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the woman was stopped during the immigration clearance process after officials identified suspicious travel information.
She was subsequently questioned about the purpose of her visit and other aspects of her travel.
The FIA stated that the preliminary investigation revealed significant information regarding the woman’s travel arrangements. Officials also recovered suspicious voice messages and photographs from her mobile phone.
The spokesperson added that investigators have obtained details of the woman’s previous and current travel arrangements, while further inquiries into the matter remain underway.
According to FIA officials, the woman has been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Karachi, for legal proceedings, while authorities are also examining the possible involvement of other individuals connected to the case.
