The government has made a significant move by abolishing the Narcotics Control Ministry.
This decision is part of the government’s right-sizing policy, aimed at reducing extra expenditures.
According to the notification, the Narcotics Control Ministry has been dissolved, and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) will now come under the control of the Interior Ministry.
This change is expected to streamline the government’s structure and improve efficiency. Right-sizing has been in focus for a while now, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb insisting on how important it is.
He mentioned that five ministries, including Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, SAFRON, Industries and Production, IT and Telecom, and Health, had been short-listed for this purpose.
The goal is to reduce the burden on the lower-income class, which is a top priority for the government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to make the final decision on this matter, and reforms are already being implemented by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
