WHO team arrives in Wuhan to investigate coronavirus origins

WUHUN: A team of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) has arrived in a Chinese city to investigate the global epidemic of coronavirus.

Chinese media have confirmed the arrival of a team of experts in Wuhan, as well as a video, has been released. A statement issued by the Chinese National Health Commission a few days ago said that a team of WHO experts would work with Chinese scientists to investigate the origin of the coronavirus.

The team said its goal is to reach the root cause, not to blame China. The WHO team will spend a month there with two weeks of quarantine. The team also includes epidemiologists and veterinarians.

Earlier, the WHO team was not allowed to enter China, which led to strong criticism from Chinese officials. The country had agreed to allow a team of WHO experts to enter China to investigate the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, days after the United Nations agency’s top official criticized Beijing for holding up the mission.
