ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis are set to face an increase in petrol and diesel rates from the second half of October 2024 amid a significant increase in international oil prices.
Last week, the global oil prices moved up by 7 percent to US$81 per barrel amid unrest in Middle East. Crude prices are still 10 percent lower than they were a year ago.
IF the government made similar changes, petrol price will hit around Rs253 per liter, and HSD prices are projected to reach Rs260 per liter.
People are desperately looking at the fortnight review as the government plans to make changes.
On the ther hand, Pakistani currency remained stable in range of 277-278 in recent times, while import premiums for petrol and diesel have stayed consistent at $8.7 and $5 per barrel, respectively.
