KARACHI: The head of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and former federal minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has announced the boycott of today’s election and said that we do not recognize local body elections.
According to the details, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said during a news conference that they do not recognize local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad. They are boycotting the elections due to the attitude of the Election Commission.
In the past too, MQM had expressed reservations about constituencies several times. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that going to the election would mean that we have accepted the constituencies. Dr. Farooq Sattar and former mayor Mustafa Kamal were also with him.

MQM chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that it seems that there is a national consensus for MQM (Pakistan), the Muhajir nation, and the urban areas of Sindh to be walled off and selected. He criticized the attitude of the Election Commission.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that we are protesting against the attitude and indifference of the commission for not getting justice and announcing withdrawal from the local body elections. Constituencies were only the responsibility of the Election Commission which was not fulfilled.
