A high-voltage cricket match, which was scheduled to be played between India and Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), was cancelled after former Indian players refused to play the match due to the presence of Shahid Afridi in the squad.
The match was to be played in Birmingham.
After the refusal of Indian players, big questions arose over the tournament.
The manager of Pakistan Legends confirmed the cancellation of the match and said that Indian players refused to play the match and expressed their concerns over the inclusion of Shahid Afridi in the squad.
Sources said that Harbajan Singh, Youraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yousaf Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Shekhar Dhawan adopted a hateful stance against Pakistan and refused to play the match.
The organizers of the World Championship of Legends explained that all the remaining matches will be held as per schedule.
The ticket fees will be reimbursed to the cricket fans.
After the cancellation of the match, Pakistani cricket fans expressed their disappointment at the attitude of Indian players and said that politics in the game of cricket is harmful to the game.
