Two armed men robbed a woman at gunpoint in Karachi’s Dhoraji area on Tuesday, in the latest incident highlighting the city’s worsening street crime situation.
According to CCTV footage, the woman was about to drive away when two armed suspects approached her vehicle. The robbers held her at gunpoint and snatched her valuables before fleeing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The robbery comes amid a recent surge in street crimes in areas falling under the DHA and Bahadurabad jurisdictions, where citizens have increasingly been targeted for cash, mobile phones, jewellery and other valuables.
In another incident on Tuesday, a 45-year-old man, identified as Naseem Abbasi, was shot dead during a mugging in PECHS Block 2. Police said armed robbers opened fire after intercepting him and fled with his mobile phone, cash and other personal belongings.

The latest incidents follow a series of violent robberies reported across Karachi. In Surjani Town, a factory worker, Faisal, was shot dead after he reportedly resisted an attempt by two motorcycle-riding robbers to snatch his motorcycle. The suspects escaped after taking Rs80,000 from him and his brother.
Karachi has witnessed a sharp rise in violent street crime in recent months, with armed muggers frequently targeting motorists and pedestrians. Several victims have been killed after allegedly resisting robbery attempts.
