LAHORE: An Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday awarded death sentences to three terrorists over their involvement at Wagah border blast in 2014.
Judge Ejaz Ahmed announced the judgment after hearing to 101 witnesses in the Wagah border blast The judge Ejaz bestowed death punishment to the three accused five times each, besides life sentences 24 times each. As well as each convicted must pay a fine of Rs1 million each.
The court ordered collective money of three million rupees will be distributed among the relatives of those killed in the bomb blast.
The accused bestowed the death penalty included Hasan Ullah, Habib Ullah and Sajid khan. The court also acquitted three accused Shafiq, Ghulam Hussain and Azeem in the case.
Over 62 people had been killed and 100 others injured in the suicide bombing on November 3, 2014, Wagah border Lahore. The Pakistani Taliban claimed the responsibility for the attack.
