US strikes on Iran: Saudi Arabia expresses concern, Qatar, Oman, and Iraq also react

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
June 22, 2025

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concerns over the United States’ strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, urging the international community to intensify efforts toward a political resolution. Iraq, Oman, and Qatar have also issued statements in response to the attacks.

According to AFP, Saudi Arabia voiced serious concern following the U.S. airstrikes in Iran, which targeted its nuclear installations.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom is “deeply concerned over developments in the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly the targeting of nuclear facilities by the United States.”

Saudi Arabia emphasized the need for de-escalation, restraint, and the avoidance of further deterioration.

The statement further appealed to the international community to intensify its efforts during this critical phase in order to achieve a political solution.

According to Al Jazeera, Oman—a Gulf state that has served as a mediator in recent nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran—condemned the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling them an act of illegal aggression. Oman stressed the need for immediate and comprehensive de-escalation.

Citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman’s state news agency reported that the Sultanate is deeply concerned about these developments and warned that the U.S. action could further inflame the conflict. It described the strikes as a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Meanwhile, Qatar has also warned that the dangerous escalation resulting from the U.S. attacks could have devastating consequences at both regional and international levels.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed regret over the deterioration of the situation following the strikes and called for an immediate halt to all military operations. It urged a prompt return to dialogue and diplomatic means to resolve outstanding issues.

Iraq also expressed deep concern and condemnation over the targeting of Iran’s nuclear facilities, stating that such military escalation poses a serious threat to regional peace and security.
