US reports over 100,000 coronavirus cases
WASHINGTON: The United States (US) now has the most known coronavirus cases of any country across the globe.
United States has overtaken Italy and China, with more than 100,000 infections while the country reported over 1,695 deaths.
Johns Hopkins University Research Center based in Baltimor, confirmed cases more than 596,350 with 27,343 deaths across the globe.
In Italy, total cases emerged so far are 86,498, with 9,134 deaths. Over 900 new coronavirus deaths reported in a single day in Italy on Saturday.
Likewise, in China 81,394 cases registered with 3,295 deaths. In Spain 65,719 cases recorded with 5,138 deaths.
China now banned the entry of foreigners for a temporary period over a flow in imported cases in the country.
In Iran, 144 new deaths from Coronavirus were reported on Saturday bringing the official number of fatalities to 2,378.
Iranian health officials also confirmed 2,926 new infections across the country bringing the overall confirmed cases to at least 32,332.
Scientists and health officials have predicted that coronavirus may kill over 1.86 million people by the end of year if useful efforts are not made to curb its spread.
