WASHINGTON: The US government has rejected India’s position objecting to the supply of arms to Pakistan.
According to the details, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar that Pakistan and other countries in the region are facing threats from terrorism.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken explained the supply of arms to Pakistan and said that these are not new planes, new systems, or new weapons for the country. “Pakistan has used all these in the past as well,” he said.
Foreign Minister Antony Blinken added that the US has a long-standing program to supply Pakistan with F-16 jets. It is our responsibility to maintain the weapons given to Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said that Pakistan’s F-16 program is to deal with the threats of terrorism. “Pakistan is not being supplied with new systems, new weapons, or new aircraft. To whoever we give equipment to, it is our duty to maintain it,” he said.
He said that the deal of Rs. 450 million dollars approved by the US for Pakistan is for the maintenance of the already provided aircraft so that the aircraft that Pakistan has can be maintained. It is in no one’s interest to allow the threat of terrorism to escalate.
