Trump to discuss Kashmir issue with Indian leadership during visit

Trump expresses confidence on China in fighting against Cornavirus
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump will raise Kashmir issue and rights of minorities with Indian leadership during his two-day visit to India beginning from tomorrow (Monday).
A senior administration official of the US while talking to media in Washington said President Trump will ask India to reduce tension with Islamabad as well as a minimized military power in Kashmir.
He said US President will urge Pakistan and India to keep up peace and stability along the Line of Control and abstain from actions or statements that could boost tensions in the tertiary.
The senior US official said President Donald Trump will also move up the issue of religious freedom. During his Davos visit recently, Donald Trump said that he was watching developments between India and Pakistan in relation to Kashmir very closely and had again offered his help to resolve the Kashmir issue.
He further said that he would speak to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ongoing issue in occupied Kashmir. However, India had rejected US President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate on the Kashmir issue.
Indian’s Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesman Raveesh Kumar said there is no role for any third party in this issue.
