In her message on Twitter, the US Congresswoman wrote that as the founder and head of the Pakistan Caucus of the US House of Congress, she is concerned about the reports of human rights violations in Pakistan and the lack of protection for those who express peaceful opposition to the government.
As the founder and chair of the U.S. House’s Congressional Pakistan caucus, I am extremely concerned about the reports that are coming out of Pakistan of human rights abuses and the lack of protection for those who express peaceful opposition to the government.

“I am particularly concerned that the former head of state has been arrested multiple times and apparently unfairly and to those who should have the right to protest freely, safely and unhindered,” he wrote. “There is no room for a fair answer,” she added.
Sheila Jackson added, “I will be writing to President Joe Biden and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to urge an end to these human rights abuses against the opposition and others and to ensure that we continue to promote US-Pakistani relations and a democratic Pakistan.”
