ISLAMABAD: Several unruly passengers on board a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight turned the aircraft into a garbage bin and threw leftovers on the floor.
The airline staff had their hands full after passengers on an aircraft left loads of trash in the cabin for the crew to clean. The PIA flight back from London was delayed because the plane had to be deep cleaned, a PIA spokesperson shared.
The PIA chartered flight PK9785 flew from Islamabad to London and back and was full of garbage both times. The pictures of waste dump went viral on social media
PIA officials have urged the passengers to behave civilized and take care of cleanliness while traveling. The flight attendants said that passengers generally act carefully on foreign airlines, however, they are not really conscious about cleanliness while traveling on the national airline.
PIA officials requested the passengers to take care of cleanliness while traveling. Several social media users said the passengers must be identified from their flight numbers and must be heavily fined for their behaviour.
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority had warned that those found littering around the airports will be served legal notices. DG CAA said that those people who would throw garbage or offal around the airports will face legal action. He had directed the airport managers to devise an effective strategy in collaboration with the district administrations.
