LONDON: The United Kingdom (UK) will begin issuing new national passports from December, featuring the royal emblem of King Charles III, British media reported on Saturday.
The new design, introduced by the British government, incorporates the Tudor Crown, marking the first major update since King Charles III ascended the throne.
According to the British Home Office, the redesigned passports will also showcase the natural landscapes of the UK’s four nations — Ben Nevis in Scotland, the Lake District in England, Three Cliffs Bay in Wales, and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.
Passports featuring the late Queen Elizabeth II’s emblem will remain valid until their expiration dates.
Since 2023, however, new passports have been issued in the name of His Majesty King Charles III.
