United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has released shocking statistics marking two years of Israel’s ongoing attacks, revealing the misery of Palestinians enduring the worst living conditions amid the two-year-long bloody war.
According to details, UNRWA has issued a detailed fact sheet on Gaza’s destruction over the past two years, containing alarming revelations. According to the UN agency’s report, 80% of Gaza’s buildings have been destroyed. A total of 845 Palestinians who had taken shelter in UN centers were martyred.
According to UNRWA’s report, more than 370 UNRWA employees were martyred in Israeli attacks. Over 790 Israeli strikes targeted medical staff and hospitals. Out of 22 UNRWA health centers, only 4 remain functional.
The UN report states that 98% of Gaza’s agricultural land has been destroyed or rendered inaccessible. Over 90% of the water and sanitation systems have been destroyed. Half a million women and girls are deprived of basic hygiene products.
The report further reveals that over 40% of Palestinian families are forced to live near piles of garbage. 660,000 children have been deprived of education for the third consecutive year. 92% of school buildings will need to be completely rebuilt, while 90% of UNRWA schools have been destroyed.
