Police training college's Principle commits suicide in Rawat

PUNJAB: A young boy and girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Sunday at Batianwala area of Punjab.
Police claimed a 19-year-old boy Amir, son Allah Ditta and a 17-year-old girl, Sidra Rafiq loved each other and wanted to marry with the consent of their families. However, their families did not approve of this marriage because of their cast different.
On failing to convince their families, Amir and Sidra allegedly consumed poison on Sunday afternoon. They were taken to a local hospital but were referred to the Civil Hospital Batianwala where they died. Police handed over the bodies to their families after completing legal formalities.
Meanwhile,Police claimed to have apprehended eight drug peddlers. SHO Batianwala Police Iftikhar Bajwa while acting on the directives of SSP conducted a raid on local Dargah and arrested eight accused.
They were identified as khakskheli, Shahid, Qambrani Afzal magsi Rafique Kumbhar, Ameero Kolh and Mujeeb Hyder. Police have registered FIRs against the arrested accused and started further investigation.
