Two Pakistani nationals allegedly abducted in Iran have been safely recovered as authorities made progress in the case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said.
The rescued individuals have reached the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran, while investigations into suspected human trafficking and the search for other missing Pakistanis remain ongoing.
The two young men, who have now reached the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran, were rescued through efforts by the FIA Link Office Iran.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the recovered individuals have been identified as Talha and Shehzad, who belong to the village of Paseen in Lahore.
An FIA spokesperson said that the recovery was made possible through coordinated efforts by FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar and the FIA Link Office Iran.
In connection with suspected human trafficking, Taj Muhammad, the father of an alleged agent named Amir Bhobhla, has been arrested. A total of five individuals have been nominated in three separate First Information Reports (FIRs) registered in the case.
The FIA said that efforts are continuing to recover other Pakistani citizens who are reportedly missing in Iran and facilitate their safe return to Pakistan.
