Trevor Noah did what he does best at the 2026 Grammy Awards: cracked a few jokes while hosting the biggest music award show of the year. However, one such joke did not sit well with US President Donald Trump, who went on to threaten legal action against the South African-born comedian.
In his trademark comedic style, Noah said it would be his final year as host before adding: “Song of the Year, that’s a Grammy every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, so he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Trump, who was known to have associated with Jeffrey Epstein for years, has consistently maintained that he had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and that the two fell out around 2004.

Responding angrily, the US president labelled The Daily Show comedian a “total loser.”
“Noah said, INCORRECTLY, about me that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!” Trump said.
“I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
Trump has taken legal action against several media organizations in recent years, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
