By-polls of PP-38 constituency of Legislative Assembly have started in Sialkot in which fierce competition is expected between PML-N and PTI.
According to details, delivery of goods for by-polls in PP-38 constituency of Sialkot has been completed. There will be fierce competition between the PML-N and the PTI.
Punjab Assembly constituency PP-38 seat became vacant on the death of PML-N member Akhtar Subhani. Polling began at 8 a.m. and will continue uninterrupted until 5 pm. The number of registered voters in the PP-38 constituency of the Legislative Assembly is 233,422. A total of 165 polling stations have been set up for by-elections.
Out of 165 polling stations in constituency PP-38, 30 have been declared as most sensitive. Rainwater was collected at polling station No. 63 at the Government Elementary School. Polling staff for the by-elections is facing difficulties in getting around due to the accumulation of rainwater. Strict security arrangements have been made for voting.
In Sialkot, there will be a fierce contest between PTI candidate Ahsan Saleem and PML-N candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq Subhani. Apart from PML-N and PTI, TLP and five independent candidates have also entered the fray for the by-elections in constituency PP-38.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was in a position to form a government after winning a simple majority in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections. Two days ago today, polling in Azad Kashmir started at 8 am and continued uninterrupted till 5 pm. PTI won 25 seats, PPP won 11 seats and PML-N won 6 seats.
