PESHAWAR: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has asserted that Transparency International has exposed the corruption of the government, stressing that it’s now time for ‘real representatives’ of people to rule.
Speaking to the journalists in Peshawar today (Friday), Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the country faces humiliation due to the incumbent government’s policies, urging the people to unite against the government.
The PDM chief further said that the Broadsheet LLC case had exposed the government’s performance and that the nation had suffered a great loss due to it. “The rulers are idiots and they will remain so,” he remarked.
Commenting on the By-polls and Senate elections, the JUI-F chief said that with the dissolution of the Sindh Assembly, the electoral college still remains intact that is why the Opposition had decided to take part in the by-polls and the Senate elections.
Talking about the differences within PDM, he said that the Opposition alliance stands united despite its differences. “PDM stands united and we will show our cards when we see fit,” he added.
Speaking about the Opposition’s future public gatherings, he said that they would observe Kashmir Day on February 5 in Muzaffarabad and hold a rally in Hyderabad on February 9.
