Lahore: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore Tuesday indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and Ijaz Chaudhry in the May 9 case.
According to the details, the PTI leaders have been indicted in the case of burning Shadman Police Station on May 9.
The court has ordered the jail trial of the three leaders and also summoned the witnesses in the next hearing.
It is pertinent to note that Sarwar Road and Shadman police stations have registered the cases against the accused.
The May 9 protests erupted nationwide last year following the arrest of Imran Khan by Rangers in the Toshakhana case from the Islamabad High Court. The demonstrations escalated into violence in several locations, leading to attacks on the General Headquarters and the Corps Commander House in Lahore. The unfolding legal proceedings shed light on the consequences of the turbulent events that transpired on that fateful day.
PTI founder Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi also face different cases related to the May 9 violence.
