Despite thousands of incidents of violence against women being reported in Sindh province in 2024, it has been revealed that not a single perpetrator has been punished, sparking debate among social media users.
According to details, the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) has released a report on the increasing violence against women in Sindh, stating that thousands of cases of violence against women were reported in 2024, but not a single offender was convicted.
The SSDO report on the rising violence against women in Sindh notes that a total of 3,397 cases were reported in 2024 across the province, including incidents of sexual assault, honor killings, abductions, and domestic violence.
The report states that Ghotki recorded the highest number of rape cases at 27, while Karachi South saw 487 cases involving the abduction or attempted abduction of women and girls.
The report also stated that 23 honor killing cases were reported in Shikarpur, and 60 cases of domestic violence were recorded in Naushahro Feroze.
SSDO Executive Director Syed Kausar Abbas said these are only the cases that were reported to the police, and the absence of convictions in these cases points to serious flaws in the justice system.
