ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir spent the Eid-ul-Azha with military personnel.

PM Shehbaz Sharif along with Army Chief General Asim Munir, Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb reached Para Chinar on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Thursday morning.

According to the announcement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister and the Chief of Army Staff offered Eid prayers to the officers and soldiers of the army and congratulated them on Eid.

The prime minister appreciated the high morale, military readiness, and high professional standards of the army. During the meeting with the soldiers and officers, the prime minister said, “Today, along with the Chief of Army Staff, I am spending the Eid day with you to pay tribute to the efforts and passions of our officers and men who guarded the borders of the motherland with courage and bravery.”

The prime minister said that the officers and men of the Pakistan Armed Forces perform the great duty of protection, defense, and security of the dear motherland by leaving their personal comfort and peace, bearing the rigors of the weather and conditions, and facing all kinds of difficulties and sufferings. ”

He said that whether it is a happy festival including Eid or a sad occasion, the officers and jawans individually and collectively give priority to the duty of protecting the motherland. “We salute your passion,” he said.

The Prime Minister said, “Today I pay tribute to the service of the officers and men of the Army, Air Force and Navy who are performing the sacred duty of protecting the borders of the dear country with iron determination while facing immense difficulties.”

PM Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid Mubarak to the entire nation, especially the officers and men of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He reiterated his determination that there is no place to hide for those who destroy peace, terrorists, their patrons and facilitators, the Pakistaniness of the Pakistani nation, and the nefarious plans of the forces creating sedition, disorder, and chaos in the country.

He said that those forces who wanted to divide and create a rift in the nation for their nefarious agenda were defeated. Martyrs are the pride of Pakistan and the nation.

The prime minister placed flowers at the martyrs’ memorial and recited Fatiha. Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival at Parachinar. Apart from Commander 11 Corps, high officials of the provincial government were also present on the occasion.
